The Dumpster Rental Experience

Spring time is a popular time to rent a dumpster. There are just so many different reasons to rent one. Whether it be spring cleaning, that outdoor project you have been waiting all winter to do, or a home renovation project in that room you have been dreaming of updating. Whatever the reason for needing a dumpster rental you want the experience to be a smooth and pleasant one.

First, you need to decide what size dumpster you are going to need for your project. They come as small as small as a 10 yard dumpster and then go up from there. The sizes include a 15 yard, 20 yard and 30 yard dumpster option. Now that you know the sizes, you need to know what they can hold. Check out our dumpster size page for more information. For example the 10 yard dumpster is good for small clean outs or home renovations and holds approx 6 pickup truck loads. If this still doesn’t help, give us a call and our customer service reps are happy to help you.

Once you’ve decided on a size contact a local dumpster rental company. Some companies will guarantee you can get the dumpster the next business day, while others need a little more notice. Make sure you are planning ahead if you are not able to get one the next day. The rental company will setup a delivery date and time with you.

You need to have a location that the dumpster can be placed when it arrives. If you are placing it on the road some towns require a permit. Check with your local government offices to see if that is the case where you live. If you are placing it on grass instead of a driveway you might want to put wood planks or boards down to help protect your yard. Otherwise the weight of the dumpster could do damage.

The amount of time that you get to keep the dumpster for depends on the company you rent it from. We offer 14 days with the rental, then you can add more if needed. Know how many days you are getting with the rental when you order it. You also need to check with the rental company on what you can and cannot put in your dumpster. While there are not many items that you can’t put in there, you want to make sure you know what they are before you begin.

Once the dumpster is full or you are done with it, call your dumpster rental company and let them know they can pick it up. The whole process really is super simple. It will be the easiest part of whatever spring project that you take on.
