5 Home Projects to Do Before the Baby Arrives

Our Take

There is a lot to think about and do during those nine months before your baby arrives. In between getting everything done, you are trying to enjoy your lasts moments of doing what you want before your new baby is making all the decisions. This means that you need to prioritize when it comes to getting your home ready for your newborn. Below are five things that you should do before you bring your baby home from the hospital. First, install banisters and railings, not for your baby but for you. You don’t need to worry about your baby crawling around the stairs for quite some time, however you need to make sure you are protected while carrying your baby up the stairs. Second, if you plan to use cloth diapers, there is something called a diaper sprayer that will make clean up much easier and less messy. Third, a ceiling fan in the nursery can help to circulate air and keep your baby happier. If you don’t feel comfortable installing this yourself, hire someone. You don’t want this falling out of the ceiling during use. Finally, you also need to get ready for all of the little baby clothes that will be getting dirty every day. Take a look at your nursery’s closet.  Make sure it is set up in a way that you can easily grab the items you need. There will also be an increase in the amount of laundry you do. Consider upgrades to your laundry room to make your life easier. You will be very busy and exhausted soon, so do things now to help make your life less stressful in the future.
