Dumpster sizes  can start as small as a 10 yard Dumpster and go up to a 30 yard Dumpster with sizes in between. Now the question is what does a 10 yard dumpster mean.

10 Yard Dumpster

These are considered a mini dumpster and are perfect for small scale home improvement or de-cluttering projects. It will fit into most driveways and is the perfect option when hauling your junk in your pick-up truck just won’t do. This dumpster is 12 feet long by 8 feet wide by 3.5 feet tall. It is great for roof tear offs of 25 squares of shingles; minor bath & kitchen remodeling; household junk removal.

15 Yard Dumpster

If your space is limited this dumpster is for you. It is perfect for homeowners, businesses and contractors completing projects that range from renovations to junk removal to landscaping. The dimensions of the dumpster are 14 feet long by 8 feet wide by 5 feet tall.  It carries approximately 6 to 8 puck up truck loads. Common uses for this size dumpster include small kitchen or basement renovations; roof tear offs of 50 squares of shingles; medium sized garage, basement or attic clean-outs.

20 Yard Dumpster

This size is the most popular for debris and trash generated by construction, demolition, big renovations, clean out and landscaping projects. They are compact and easy to load so they won’t take up too much space at your home or job site. This dumpster holds about the equivalent of 8 to 10 pick up truck loads. It is 16 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet tall.  This size dumpster is great for shrub, brush and tree removal; carpet, flooring and bulk item removal; deck, patio and shed demolitions; large kitchen, basement and multiple room renovations.

30 Yard Dumpster

Last but certainly not least, the 30 yard dumpster is a workhorse for large-scale construction or demolition projects as well as commercial clean-out projects.  This dumpster will hold the equivalent of 12 to 15 pick up truck loads. Its dimensions are 22 feet long by 8 feet wide by 6 feet tall.  Some of the common uses include new construction or major reconstruction; commercial roof tear offs; major landscape clearing.
